Goal Accomplished 2018

Lindsay Blakebook review, books to read4 Comments

When I first met the Beckner half, nearly 10 years ago, she told me she had a goal of reading 52 books in a year – a book for each week of the year. I remember thinking how lofty of a goal that sounded and made it a point to someday accomplish it. I’ve always been a reader, from a young age I read anywhere and everywhere. Even in cars.

Just this morning I read Carsen Aesop’s Fable of the Tortoise and the Hare. The meaning of the story being, “keep trying and you will succeed.” It took me 10 years, but I finally read 52+ books in 2018. It took a lot of commitment, and if I’m honest, I’m not sure 2019 will be the year I do it again, but I’m grateful 2018 allowed me the space to accomplish such a great big goal.

  1. I love all of the Magic Tree House books! I also love that Boxcar Children is on there! It was always a favourite series of mine.

    1. Yes! Carsen and I love The Magic Tree House books! And I grew up on the Box Car Children. Can’t wait to pull those out along with The Hardy Boys!

  2. I am so impressed. A few of this I have read and enjoyed. Have always read anything about Mrs. Kennedy; Clint Hill was one of her Secret Service men if I remember correctly. Most of your books I haven’t read yet. I want to, plan to read your and Layne’s book in 2019. I really plan to make time for reading again. Have read all my life, and in cars like you. Now off to read Layne’s list.Have a wonderful New Year.
