Fangirl//Book Review

One of the most consistent things we do for our own writing is to read. We read fiction, non-fiction, biographies, histories, leadership books, personal development books, young adult books.

It’s an incredible gift to be able to learn from other authors and have our own creativity fed by the beautiful things they’ve created.

To that end, we will be sharing some of our reads in this space and breaking down a little of what we loved (or didn’t love!) about the books.

Rainbow Rowell is one of my all-time favorite modern authors. It’s extra intriguing that she lives in Nebraska (just like Lindsay!) and talks about Nebraska a lot in her writing. I’m actually going to go add “hang out with Rainbow Rowell” on my dream list. One sec…..

Okay, I’m back.

I recently read Fangirl and loved it.

Some of Rainbow’s (*yes, we’re on a first-name basis now)other books that I love have been Attachments and Eleanor & Park.

I love Rainbow’s writing style-it’s easy, consistent, clear. Her characters are endearing, funny, quirky. I highly recommend checking her out if you’re in the mood for good writing and sweet storytelling.

Happy Monday, y’all.

  1. I have now added her and her books to my reading list. Thanks for your suggestion(s)! I’m always looking for new authors.

  2. So, I have read all three. And I think I like Eleanor & Park the best. Second: Attachments (got that right Layne!) and Fangirl last! I know, in part, it is because I don’t like sci-fi or vampires. But all was time spent well! 🙂
